BiH Remains Strongly Committed to Being Part of the Global Fight Against Terrorism

KUWAIT, (Patria) - Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH Igor Crnadak participated, at the invitation of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, in the Ministerial Meeting of the Global Coalition to Combat ISIL, which is being held in Kuwait.

The Ministerial Meeting in Kuwait was opened with speeches by the Kuwaiti Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Sabah Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and the United States Secretary of State Rex Tillerson.

Before the start of the Ministerial Meeting, Minister Crnadak met with the US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson.

Before the participants of the Ministerial Meeting addressed the attendees, the latest report on the situation on the ground and the military successes of the Coalition against ISIL in the last year in the territories of Syria and Iraq was presented.

During his address, Minister Crnadak informed the participants that BiH remains strongly committed to being part of the global fight against terrorism. He emphasized that BiH will continue to support the Coalition diplomatically and politically, as well as, in accordance with its capabilities, in the form of material assistance, following previous donations of a total of approximately 1,100 tons of ammunition for the Iraqi army.

Minister Crnadak also presented BiH's legislative activities to date in the area of preventing departure to foreign battlefields, strategies for the prevention and fight against terrorism, and the prevention of financing terrorist activities.

At the end of his speech, calling for a constant need to improve cooperation between the Coalition countries, Minister Crnadak stated that repression alone cannot stop the spread of dangerous ideologies, but that it is necessary to simultaneously work on reducing poverty, improving education, as well as continuously working on strengthening cooperation on political, economic, and security issues, which are key indicators of a society's readiness to fight against radicalism and terrorism.

Representatives from 68 countries, as well as representatives from the EU, NATO, and INTERPOL, participated in the Ministerial Meeting.
