BiH remains committed to fighting terrorism

SOCHI, (Patria) - Bosnia and Herzegovina remains committed to fighting terrorism and will continue to contribute to strengthening security and the joint fight against global threats, stated the Minister of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina Dragan Mektić at the international conference dedicated to strengthening global security in Sochi.

Mektić emphasized that BiH, thanks to the measures taken in the last three years, has not had a single incident related to terrorism, and our country is recognized as a regional leader in prevention and deradicalization.

The aim of the meeting of high-ranking officials responsible for security issues, which was opened by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov, is the development of international cooperation and strengthening of bilateral ties in this area.

The main topics of discussion are the changes in strategies and tactics of international terrorist organizations, international information security, and the fight against drug trafficking, as increasing threats to global peace and stability.

Minister Mektić, who is visiting Russia at the invitation of the Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Nikolai Patrushev, will also have several bilateral meetings with high-ranking officials from Russia and participating countries at the conference.
