BIGMEV presents 40 investment projects of BiH businessmen to Turkish partners

The BIGMEV Foundation - Center for Development of Relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Turkey has started presenting 40 investment projects of Bosnian small and medium-sized enterprises with a total turnover of around 32 million euros to companies and business associations of the Republic of Turkey, reports the Patria news agency.

The initiative for the implementation of this project arose within the educational program of the BIGMEV Foundation, which included 8 BiH cities and 120 managers from small and medium-sized enterprises, and which involved training in writing investment projects. BiH companies come from various sectors such as wood industry, food production, metal processing industry, automotive industry, textile industry, etc.

- After the training was conducted, we analyzed 120 investment projects with potential Turkish partners. Preliminary interest from Turkish investors was shown for 40 investment projects. Immediately after, BIGMEV launched a campaign to present the selected projects to Turkish companies, chambers of commerce and sector associations. It is important to point out that the entire project did not end with our presentation, and its implementation continues throughout this year when potential investors from Turkey will be brought to BiH, state BIGMEV.

The project partner is the Turkish Small and Medium Enterprises Development Organization (KOSGEB). The BIGMEV Foundation signed a contract with KOSGEB last year, which is the umbrella organization of the small and medium-sized enterprise sector that makes up 66% of the total turnover of one of the fastest-growing economies in the world. Through cooperation with BIGMEV, KOSGEB, besides in Sarajevo, has its representative offices only in Chicago, Atlanta, Cologne and The Hague.

This cooperation is even more significant considering that all interested business people from Turkey who want to establish cooperation with Bosnian businessmen or intend to invest in BiH will be able to do so through BIGMEV. Since BIGMEV signed a cooperation agreement with the Turkish Small and Medium Enterprises Development Organization – KOSGEB, all Turkish businessmen coming to BiH for business cooperation have significant financial and other forms of assistance from this Directorate.

For these reasons, Turkish business people are most interested in establishing business cooperation with BiH precisely within this agreement. In this way, Turkey will take an additional step in creating a more favorable environment for the development of business relations between businessmen of these two countries.
