(Patria) - U.S. President Joe Biden emphasized the need for Israel to defend its citizens from terrorism in a way that protects civilians during talks on Sunday with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the White House said.
Biden also "underscored the need to immediately and significantly increase the flow of humanitarian assistance to meet the needs of civilians in Gaza," the statement said.
Earlier, his national security adviser Jake Sullivan told CNN that Israel "should take every possible measure available to them to distinguish between Hamas – terrorists, who are legitimate military targets, and civilians who are not."
