Biden spoke by phone with Netanyahu and Abbas

(Patria) - US President Joe Biden spoke separately by phone with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.

This information was released last night by the offices of the Israeli and Palestinian leaders.


Netanyahu told Biden that "unity and determination are needed to achieve Israel's military goals against the Palestinian Islamist organization Hamas, which governs the Gaza Strip."

Netanyahu also thanked Biden for his support, the office of the Israeli prime minister announced.

The Palestinian leader told Biden that he completely rejects the displacement of Palestinians from Gaza as Israel retaliates for Hamas's deadly attack on its territory, according to a statement from Abbas's office.

A US official confirmed the phone calls, but the White House has not yet released details.
