SARAJevo, (Patria) - In his first talks with world leaders, the newly elected President of the United States of America, Joe Biden, has shown readiness to dedicate himself to key global challenges. Judging by one of these conversations, the Western Balkans is among the main global topics.
In the days following the election, Biden received congratulations from all over the world. Some of the European leaders who congratulated him include German Chancellor Angela Merkel, President of France Emmanuel Macron, and Prime Minister of Great Britain Boris Johnson.
The Western Balkans region was mentioned in the phone call with Johnson, N1 reports.
"Among the priorities they discussed were the Covid-19 pandemic and improving global health security, achieving a sustainable economic recovery, combating climate change, strengthening democracy, and working together on issues such as the Western Balkans and Ukraine," stated the official documents of Biden's team.
"The newly elected president expressed interest in cooperating with Great Britain, NATO, and the European Union on common transatlantic priorities," it was emphasized.
