I assured him that I am directing my entire administration to work with his team to ensure a peaceful and orderly transition. That is what the American people deserve - Biden emphasized.

He assessed his presidency of the USA as historic - "not because I was president, but because of the things we did".

- Investments in people and infrastructure, building the strongest economy in the world. We have changed America for the better, and the results are yet to be seen - Biden said.

He praised Kamala Harris for her "true character" in her statements after the election defeat.

- She ran an inspiring campaign, and everyone saw something I learned to respect early on, her character, she can be proud - Biden stated.

He told his compatriots that he understands there will be different feelings about the presidential election results, but that it is important to "accept the choice the country has made".

- I know that for some people it is a time for celebration, for others it is a time of defeat and disappointment. But campaigns are competitions, the country chooses one or the other, and we accept the choice the country has made.

You can't love your country only when you win - Biden said, clearly alluding to Trump.

- You can't love your neighbor only when you agree. Something I think you can do regardless of who you voted for is to not see each other as opponents, but as fellow Americans.
