Biden undergoes radiation treatment for prostate cancer

(Patria) - Former US President Joe Biden has undergone radiation treatment for prostate cancer diagnosed in May, his spokesman said today.

- As part of the treatment plan for prostate cancer, President Biden is currently undergoing radiation therapy and is receiving hormone treatment - the spokesman confirmed.

Biden, who turns 83 next month, underwent a procedure known as Mohs surgery in September, a precise technique that removes skin cancer layer by layer while preserving as much healthy tissue as possible.

The former Democratic president revealed in May that he had been diagnosed with metastatic prostate cancer.

Members of his team said the disease is aggressive but also hormone-sensitive, meaning it will likely respond to treatment.
