Biden on Baltimore Bridge Collapse: No Indications It Was an Intentional Act

(Patria) - U.S. President Joe Biden spoke after yesterday's ship collision with the bridge in Baltimore, which caused the bridge structure to collapse.

He confirmed that the rescue operation continues, and added that he often crossed the "Francis Scott Key" bridge while traveling between Washington and Delaware.

"There are no indications that it was an intentional act. The search and rescue operation is our top priority. Together with our partners in Congress, we will try to ensure that the state receives the necessary support.

My intention is for the federal government to pay the entire cost of rebuilding the bridge. I expect Congress to support that. This will take some time. We are not leaving until the job is done," Biden said, adding that he will travel to Baltimore as soon as possible.
