(Patria) - US President Joe Biden stated that he does not support an attack on Iranian nuclear sites in response to Iran's missile attack on Israel.
- We will talk to the Israelis about what to do, and all seven of us (G7 countries) agree that they have the right to respond, but they should respond proportionately - Biden told reporters.
Iran fired more than 180 ballistic missiles at Israel on Tuesday, which Biden previously described as "ineffective".
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu promised that Iran would pay for the attack.
Some analysts assess that Israel's response this time will likely be harsher, suggesting that it could target Iranian nuclear or oil facilities.
Biden told reporters that additional sanctions will be imposed on Iran and that he will talk to Netanyahu soon.
- It is clear that Iran has gone far off track - Biden added.
