
(Patria) - US President Joe Biden yesterday hinted at progress in ongoing diplomatic efforts to reach a ceasefire agreement in Gaza.
Biden stated on the platform X that both Israel and Hamas have agreed to the "framework" he outlined six weeks ago.
At the end of May, Biden detailed a three-phase proposal aimed at achieving a ceasefire.
This included the release of hostages held by Hamas in Gaza and Palestinian prisoners held by Israel, Israel's withdrawal from Gaza, and the reconstruction of the coastal enclave.
Six weeks ago I laid out a comprehensive framework for how to achieve a ceasefire and bring the hostages home.
There is still work to do and these are complex issues, but that framework is now agreed to by both Israel and Hamas.
