(Patria) - After Hezbollah fired missiles at Northern Israel, sirens sounded in Haifa. The IDF said it successfully intercepted a missile aimed at Israel.
"Israelis fled to shelter after Hezbollah fired missiles at Haifa," the IDF stated.
US President Joe Biden said he would speak with Israeli President Benjamin Netanyahu. When asked by reporters if a comprehensive war in the Middle East could be avoided, he replied: "It has to be able to be avoided. We really have to avoid it."
Biden, however, did not specify when he would speak with Netanyahu.
"I'll tell you what I told him when I speak with him," he said.
Biden commented yesterday on the assassination of Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah, stating that "a measure of justice" had been achieved.
He then added that the United States supports a diplomatic ceasefire agreement.
