Biden and Harris spoke by phone with Trump about assassination attempt

(Patria) - US President and Vice President Joe Biden and Kamala Harris spoke by phone with former president and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, the White House announced.

Harris, the Democratic presidential candidate, told Trump in a brief and cordial conversation that she was grateful he was safe after the alleged assassination attempt on Sunday, a White House official revealed.

The official added that Biden also called Trump to convey a similar message, reports Voice of America.

US investigators are analyzing social media accounts and other posts by the suspect in the apparent assassination attempt on the former president, trying to determine Ryan Wesley Routh's motive and whether anyone else might have been involved.
