Farmers from BiH will meet with World Bank representatives in Sarajevo on August 9, after which experts from this financial institution will begin assessing the damage that BiH farmers could suffer after the entry into force of the SAA, Patria reports.
Following the visit of German Agriculture Minister Christian Schmidt to Bosnia and Herzegovina, it was agreed that the World Bank would assess the negative effects on domestic agriculture caused by the Stabilisation and Association Agreement between BiH and the EU. It was also agreed that assistance to BiH farmers would follow afterwards. The exact manner in which farmers will receive this assistance has not yet been precisely defined.
The European Commission and the German Ministry of Agriculture will also provide support to mitigate the consequences of the implementation of the adapted Stabilisation and Association Agreement between BiH and the EU.
