Bosnian citizens with Croatian passports gain access to the Swiss labor market

SARAJevo, (Patria) - The Swiss Federal Council granted Croatia the status of free movement of people as of the first day of 2022. Thus, citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina who possess a Croatian passport will be able to compete in the Swiss market starting January 1st, as the new status simplifies bureaucracy.

You need to arrange a foreigner's residence permit, which is issued for one year, at one location, and register at the municipality by presenting an ID card or passport, a copy of the employment contract, and a rental agreement for an apartment. You will pay a fee for the ID card, have your photo taken for it, and receive it in your mailbox within a few days.

Then the job search begins. According to Net, citing the website jobs.ch, the Swiss labor market is looking for almost 92,000 employees. The highest demand is in the construction sector, and there is also a shortage of workers in healthcare.

According to data from the Swiss employment office, a large number of caregivers are also sought, and there is significant demand for electricians, software developers, project managers, sales consultants, carpenters, salespeople, sanitary installers, and clerks.

As for salaries, according to the Lohnanalyse portal, the average gross annual salary for a caregiver is around 58,427.80 Swiss francs, which is slightly more than 110,000 marks annually. Monthly, this would be around 9,000 marks.

Electricians earn almost 10,000 KM per month on average, while software developers receive around 12,000 marks for their work in the same period.
