Bosnian actor Edin Hasanović becomes personality of the day in Germany after mocking right-wingers

BERLIN, (Patria) - German media are writing today about the political messages sent by Edin Hasanović at the German Film Awards ceremony.

Actor Edin Hasanović last night, together with the legendary German actress Iris Berben, hosted the awards ceremony for this year's German Film Awards. Thus, this 26-year-old, originally from Zvornik, became the youngest host in the history of this event, which has been held since 1951, writes DW.

Hasanović has otherwise established himself very well on the German acting scene and has so far had notable roles in numerous German television series and films, and is also the recipient of two "Golden Cameras", awarded to him as the best young actor, and for best production.  

The tabloid Bild rated the ceremony as the most political in its history so far, and largely attributes the credit for this to Hasanović.

- In addition to many gags, this newcomer managed to launch a whole fireworks display of political statements and thus show a clear stance against xenophobia - writes Bild.

After that, AfD politician Björn Höcke (46) was honored with satirical criticism from Edin Hasanović. Thus, this native of Bosnia said before the first award ceremony:

- I wonder what that feels like: you fight against refugees your whole life, claiming they will overrun your country, dilute your culture, cause unrest... And then you sit in your home, turn on the TV, and someone who is a former refugee is moderating the German Film Awards. That's nasty! 

Edin continued, speaking almost angrily:

- A refugee is a person who flees. That is a condition, not an identity. Clearly, integration happens in both directions, but people are not the problem - the article in the tabloid Bild dedicated to this German actor born in BiH further states.
