BH-Gas: Energoinvest's legal violence is bringing citizens and the economy of FBiH into a hostage crisis

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - BH-Gas wants to publicly and transparently inform the public that Energoinvest's statement is not true and completely misleads the public, it was announced from this company.

"BH-Gas will, within 30 seconds of receiving the Russian invoice from Energoinvest, settle its obligations to Gazprom Export, and any threats to the regular supply of natural gas to consumers will be eliminated. The only unpaid invoice is for the month of March, and it became due for payment 5 days ago. Energoinvest is consciously ignoring the fact that BH-Gas proposed a transitional solution which ENERGOINVEST REFUSED.
BH-Gas consistently implements the policy of the FBiH Government, and Energoinvest is misleading the FBiH Government, which could have negative financial consequences, in which BH-Gas does not want to participate in any way," stated BH-Gas.

Energoinvest does not want to provide the invoice from Gazprom Export, thereby preventing BH-Gas from fulfilling its obligations as it has done for the past 23 years.

"This is legal violence carried out by Energoinvest, and with this, they want to bring the citizens and the economy of FBiH into a hostage crisis in order to achieve the takeover of BH-Gas consumers and thus bring BH-Gas into a situation where it cannot realize the strategic projects of FBiH, especially the Southern Interconnection. Energoinvest wants the TurkStream to be the only supply route, and Russian gas to be the only gas that FBiH will buy, and for that realization, the Southern Interconnection becomes an obstacle. For months, we have been warning that the scenario of switching to TurkStream would be exactly like this and that Energoinvest, by unilaterally switching to that route, would abandon all contracts from the Beregovo route. Now we have a situation where the Hungarian transporter FGSZ and the Serbian transporter Transportgas Srbija have sent warnings for payment of transport costs, and for contracts that ENERGOINVEST SHOULD HAVE TERMINATED," the statement reads.

"Energoinvest and individuals, from centers of power known to us, are forcing BH-Gas to do something that is not prescribed by any document, and it has been clearly communicated to them that such pressure will not work, and BH-Gas will settle the invoice to Gazprom within 30 seconds as soon as ENERGOINVEST PROVIDES THAT INVOICE, BUT THEY DON'T WANT TO. BH-Gas has never stopped payments to Gazprom, nor have these payments been questioned, but we cannot pay if Energoinvest DOES NOT WANT TO PROVIDE US WITH GAZPROM'S INVOICE AS HAS BEEN DONE FOR THE PAST 23 YEARS. They want BH-Gas to act contrary to legal regulations and to renounce all development projects that mean diversification of supply sources.
BH-Gas ASKS ALL INSTITUTIONS FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT TO GET INVOLVED IN THIS PROBLEM BECAUSE THERE IS LEGAL VIOLENCE CAUSED BY ENERGOINVEST'S UNILATERAL SWITCH TO TURKSTREAM, CONTRARY TO THE GOVERNMENT'S DECISIONS FOR BOTH COMPANIES TO REMAIN ON THE BEREGOVO-BiH SUPPLY ROUTE UNTIL 2023. BH-Gas possesses all documentation regarding the pressure on this company, as well as other evidence showing the individuals behind this pressure," concluded BH-Gas in a press release.
