BH Gas Responds to Šarović: Our Goal is to Build a Gas Pipeline for All of BiH

BH Gas has responded to the statement by the Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations, Mirko Šarović, regarding the supply of natural gas to the Brod Oil Refinery from the Republic of Croatia.

We remind you that Šarović stated that an unnecessary state-level discussion was created when talking about the agreement between Republika Srpska and Croatia.

- That possibility is regulated and arranged in a decent manner. In the border area, companies can enter into agreements and conclude such arrangements. This is not about a transmission pipeline, but about a distribution pipeline and the supply of gas from neighboring Croatia to one of the companies in BiH. The interstate agreement provides for this, and in this way, both sides benefit... Two companies could agree on supply, and Croatia could inform us that it happened – said Šarović.

In relation to the statements of the BiH Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations, BH-Gas wishes to point out the following to the public, all in order to provide accurate information:

In the specific case, it is precisely the opposite of the previously stated statement, which is that it concerns connection to the transmission, not the distribution system of Croatia, and the underground pipe (product pipeline) is a transmission pipe, which we believe is information that the state minister should possess.

It is disappointing that the state minister gives precise instructions on how two companies should negotiate, and not instructions on how a Brod - Zenica transmission gas pipeline can be built and how BiH, as well as the Brod Refinery, can receive natural gas through that pipeline.

At the same time, we want to reiterate, BH-Gas's goal is to build a gas pipeline for the entire BiH, not to seek justification for this project, which, incidentally, has no basis in either professional practice or valid legislation.

Finally, BH-Gas understands that all the facts it presents and has presented conclude that all the moves of the neighbors are "friendly", we have clearly presented our views, argued them, but we also believe that the interests of the country's consumers should also be considered at other, higher levels – it is stated in the BH Gas reaction.
