Bevanda: We are in the final stages with the DFB, once the Council of Ministers adopts it, we will send the Draft Budget

SARAJEVO, (Patria) – Vjekoslav Bevanda, Minister of Finance and Treasury of BiH, said at today's session of the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliament that the information that the session of the Council of Ministers of BiH was not held and that there were not enough votes for the discussion on the agenda, the Decision on allocating funds to the Central Election Commission for the implementation of the General Elections, is correct.

Minister Bevanda stated that BiH institutions have been operating on temporary financing for six quarters.

"The Budget is the only document that regulates everything, and therefore long discussions are held about its form and content. The first item is the adoption of the Global Fiscal Framework. The Law on the Fiscal Council has been violated, everyone has adopted their budgets. The Fiscal Council consists of the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH, the Minister of Finance, two entity prime ministers, and two finance ministers. Five votes are needed to make decisions. The deadline for the Global Financial Framework was 31.05.2021. The Ministry of Finance and Treasury has sent multiple urgent requests to the Fiscal Council. The Fiscal Council adopted the Global Financial Framework on March 30, thus fulfilling the first item. Everyone is to blame for the sessions not being held, except for Minister Bevanda. He attended every one. We waited nine months for the Global Fiscal Framework," said Bevanda.

Regarding the Draft Budget for institutions for 2022, Bevanda stated that it is in the final stages, as is the Draft Budgetary Framework Document.

"We will send the DFB to the Council of Ministers, and after its adoption, we will send the Draft Budget for further procedure," Bevanda stated.
