SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Minister of Finance and Treasury Vjekoslav Bevanda spoke today with the Resident Coordinator of the United Nations (UN) agencies, Ingrid Macdonald, about the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the socio-economic situation in BiH.
During the meeting, it was emphasized that the entire world has faced severe consequences of this pandemic, both health, economic, and social, and that urgent measures are necessary to overcome the harmful effects in Bosnia and Herzegovina as well.
Bevanda stated that he is satisfied with the long-standing cooperation between BiH and UN agencies, which have numerous projects in implementation, as well as planned for the future, which will be covered by the new UN Development Assistance Framework for the period 2021-2025.
At the meeting, it was emphasized that there is always room to improve cooperation, but that the assistance provided by the UN through its agencies to the citizens of BiH in extraordinary situations has always been invaluable and crucial.
Given that Minister Bevanda is the co-chair of the BiH-UN Joint Steering Committee, it was agreed at the meeting that the date for the next session of this body will be arranged as soon as possible and that regular activities will continue.
