Bešlija: We Demand Immediate Resumption of Production, We Will Be in Front of the FBiH Government Building Tomorrow as Well

Workers of "UNIS Tools" who have been on strike since April 6 were received today by Reuf Bajrović, Minister of Energy and Mining of the Federation of BiH, but without the presence of Prime Minister Fadil Novalić, he could not provide more concrete assistance to the workers, reports the Patria news agency.

Dževad Bešlija, president of the UNIS Tools union, told the Patria news agency that Bajrović received them well, but it was agreed that further discussions would take place.

- The minister cannot do anything without Novalić, who was at one time also the chairman of the Supervisory Board of our company. We conveyed our demands to the minister, which state that we demand the immediate restart of production facilities, the linking of service years, and finally the appointment of a management that will work - said Bešlija.

Although they were told that Prime Minister Novalić will not return from Washington until tomorrow evening, the workers will still come in front of the FBiH Government building in the morning hours tomorrow.

- We were asked not to come, but we have been on strike since April and no one has addressed us, so we came in front of the Government building, and we will come again tomorrow - added Bešlija.

When asked why production stopped, Bešlija said it was done haphazardly. Incidentally, in this company, there are people who qualified for a pension back in January but cannot retire due to unlinked service years.

- Simply, they shut down one facility after another, and now there is no production at all. That is how state property is being destroyed - added Bešlija.

Minister Bajrović said that it is necessary to revitalize this company, and that a new meeting will be arranged when Novalić returns from the USA.
