(Patria) - The Belgian Air Force today dropped the first in a planned series of humanitarian aid deliveries over Gaza, in cooperation with Jordan, the Belgian Ministry of Defence announced today, Reuters reports.
To help Palestinians in Gaza, Belgium decided to join the Jordanian air operation because it did not receive permission from Israel for humanitarian aid trucks to enter or to fly over Gaza airspace, Belgian Minister of Defence Ludivine Dedonder and Minister of Foreign Affairs Maxime Prévot announced on July 30.
Planes from Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Germany, and France dropped about 90 shipments of humanitarian aid in the northern and southern parts of the Gaza Strip yesterday.
