(Patria) - Members of the Viennese Special Group for Combating Street Crime (EGS) arrested seven suspected dealers and seized over 30 kilograms of drugs, Austrian media report.
All arrested individuals are between 21 and 38 years old and are citizens of BiH and Serbia.
The operation began in November with the arrest of a Croatian national in Vienna's Meidling district, whose testimony led to all the suspected dealers who were apprehended.
EGS members arrested three individuals in an apartment in Floridsdorf, and the remaining suspects late in the afternoon in an apartment in Brigittenau, the Viennese police administration announced.
A total of approximately 20 kilograms of marijuana, 10.5 kilograms of cocaine, three kilograms of hashish, 1.1 grams of speed, as well as 70,540 euros in cash were seized.
During questioning, two of the arrested individuals admitted guilt, while the others refused to make a statement.
By order of the Viennese prosecutor's office, all arrested individuals were transferred to pre-trial detention.
