Bećirović: Chauvinism is too dangerous and too expensive, let's focus on life and economy!

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Denis Bećirović, candidate for the BiH Presidency, stated that economic issues must dominate the political discourse.

- Given the economic and human potential, Bosnia and Herzegovina should be moving towards a better economic future. Instead, retrograde policies are leading us back to the 19th century, under the banner of chauvinism. I keep saying that the main campaign topics should be: strengthening the economy, fighting crime and corruption, building a more modern education system, removing business barriers, attracting foreign investment...

Those who have no development plans turn to empty nationalist topics with which they have been tormenting citizens and the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina for decades.

Bosnia and Herzegovina is our common home, we must all definitely understand that, and it is the obligation of all of us to make that home more pleasant to live in. Any delay on the defined Euro-Atlantic path of Bosnia and Herzegovina is not good for anyone except for those who see the rule of law and the unquestionability of state sovereignty as a failure and a threat to their own political and economic interests.

Finally, we don't all have to think the same about certain issues, but we should all act together when it comes to the progress and development of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The sooner we understand this, the better it will be for everyone. Although relevant political actors in Bosnia and Herzegovina are not united on the issue of the country's economic progress, it is the obligation of all to contribute as much as possible to the development of the economy, and thus to the creation of better living conditions for all citizens.

Enemies of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, by spreading chauvinism, protect their economic interests and live by sowing fear among citizens and peoples. At the same time, studies show that about 60% of young people want to leave the country. They have created such a political climate of fear and uncertainty that for most people, the life project is to go somewhere else. We must prevent the demographic devastation of our country. Therefore, we must replace senseless policies with prospective European forces that will take care of the most important resource of the state, its people - concluded Bećirović.
