Bećirović with Congressman Turner: The attempt to overthrow the constitutional order of BiH continues

(Patria) - Member of the Presidency of BiH Denis Bećirović spoke in the US Congress building in Washington with Congressman Michael Turner (Republican Party), Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Defense and Security of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly and Co-Chairman of the BiH Congressional Caucus in the US House of Representatives.

Bećirović informed Congressman Turner that Bosnia and Herzegovina, 30 years after the signing of the Dayton Peace Agreement, is facing the most severe security crisis caused by the pro-Russian and separatist leadership of the BiH entity of Republika Srpska.

He emphasized that the attempt to overthrow the constitutional order of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina is still ongoing, and that the institutions of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina must act in sync with the international community with the aim of preserving the legal order of the state and the hard-won peace.

Bećirović stressed that the proposal of the president of the BiH entity of Republika Srpska to negotiate directly with the entity of FBiH is a mere deception. Entities exist only within the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and state matters will be decided only by state bodies of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The strategic commitment of Bosnia and Herzegovina to NATO membership was particularly emphasized in the conversation. Bećirović stressed that Euro-Atlantic integration represents the best framework for the long-term security and stability of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the entire Western Balkan region.

Congressman Turner reiterated that the United States of America remains a strong partner and ally of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and emphasized the importance of joint action in preserving peace, the rule of law, and the European and Euro-Atlantic perspective of our country.
