(Patria) - Speaker of the BiH Presidency Denis Bećirović spoke with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, Hakan Fidan.
During a friendly and substantive conversation, it was emphasized that Bosnia and Herzegovina and Turkey have traditionally good and friendly relations, and that both countries are interested in improving bilateral cooperation.
Bećirović said that it is extremely important for the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina to continue deepening political, economic, and other ties with Turkey.
One of the strategic goals of Bosnia and Herzegovina is to join the NATO alliance, and therefore, among other things, cooperation with one of the strongest NATO members - Turkey - is very important.
Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan said that Turkey strongly supports the independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the European and Euro-Atlantic path of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
He also stated that Turkey is firmly with Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Bećirović thanked Turkey, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and Minister Hakan Fidan for their great support during the adoption of the Resolution on the Genocide in Srebrenica by the United Nations General Assembly.
- This Resolution represents an opportunity for catharsis in the region and a break with the policies that led to the genocide against Bosniaks - Bećirović stated.
