Bećirović spoke with the Chinese Ambassador: Foreign policy is the exclusive jurisdiction of the state of BiH, not entities

(Patria) - Member of the BiH Presidency Denis Bećirović spoke with the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to BiH Ji Ping about the current situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the relations between the two countries.

Bećirović emphasized that the institutional framework of the foreign policy of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina is clear. The BiH Presidency is responsible for conducting the foreign policy of Bosnia and Herzegovina as the highest collective executive authority of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Bosnia and Herzegovina entities, as lower administrative-territorial units within the sovereign state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, have no jurisdiction for conducting foreign policy and foreign policy representation of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Therefore, communication between the two countries should take place exclusively through the competent state bodies of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Ambassador Ji Ping stated that the People's Republic of China respects the independence, territorial integrity, and sovereignty of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Among other things, he stated that he has an equal relationship with all peoples in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and that disputed issues should be resolved through dialogue.

During the meeting, it was stated that the two countries have good relations and the need to improve economic and other ties.

It was emphasized that there is a mutual interest for the friendly relations between the two countries to contribute to strengthening economic relations and to open doors for BiH businessmen to achieve higher quality cooperation.
