Bećirović Condemns Israeli Attack on Qatar: Could Have Serious Consequences for Peace in This Part of the World

(Patria) - Regarding the Israeli attack on the State of Qatar, member of the BiH Presidency Denis Bećirović strongly condemned this attack.

"The Israeli attack on the independent and sovereign State of Qatar constitutes a gross violation of international law. Therefore, I strongly condemn the use of force in resolving open issues. The armed attack by Israel on the State of Qatar further complicates the already extremely difficult situation in the Middle East. The policy of force and violence is contrary to the fundamental principles of international law and represents a flagrant violation of the principles of the Charter of the United Nations (UN).

Bosnia and Herzegovina, as a full member state of the UN, firmly advocates for respect for the norms of international law. Our country is principled in its commitment to resolving all disputes through dialogue and peaceful means, respecting the principles of international law. Peace is a universal and invaluable value, which we must affirm across all meridians and parallels.

The engaged approach of the State of Qatar, aimed at helping resolve the very delicate issues of peace in Gaza and the Middle East, has been jeopardized by Israel's armed action against this country's peace mission, which could have serious consequences for peace in this part of the world.

The foreign policy of Bosnia and Herzegovina is based on peaceful cooperation, promotion of dialogue, openness, equality, and respect for the principles of constitutionality, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the rule of law in all aspects of relations with international partners.

I express full solidarity and support to the Emir of the State of Qatar, His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, as well as to the people of the State of Qatar."
