Bećirović: Dodik's visit to Brussels is the peak of political cynicism

(Patria) - The visit of Milorad Dodik to Brussels and the submission of the Questionnaire to the European Commission were called the peak of political cynicism by the director of the International Institute for Middle Eastern and Balkan Studies (IFIMES) from Ljubljana, Zijad Bećirović.

Bećirović pointed out that the president of SNSD, Milorad Dodik, is an opponent of Bosnia and Herzegovina's entry into NATO, and he is sure, as he stated, that Dodik is also an opponent of BiH's entry into the European Union.

“This is confirmed by the recent statement of Nebojša Radmanović /vice-president of SNSD/, who said that the issue of Bosnia and Herzegovina's entry into the EU is also an open question, which in translation means that they are against joining the European Union”, believes Bećirović, reminding that Milorad Dodik's way of ruling functions on a network of tycoons, which is contrary to the principles of the European Union.

“He needs the European Union only if he can get some funds that he could misuse”, said Bećirović.

The director of IFIMES assesses that the mere submission of additional answers to the European Commission's questionnaire does not mean anything special, and that Bosnia and Herzegovina is still miles away from the European Union.

“It is the first step on a thousand-mile journey”, said Bećirović, adding that Dodik has no credibility in Brussels, reminding that Dodik is also on the US Blacklist.

The Chairman of the Presidency of BiH, Milorad Dodik, is on a working visit to the institutions of the European Union today, where he will hand over the answers to the additional questions from the European Commission's Questionnaire to Commissioner Johannes Hahn.

Dodik will also hold a meeting with the Vice-President of the European Commission and High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Federica Mogherini, and the European Commissioner for Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations, Johannes Hahn.

After the meeting, the handover of answers to the additional questions from the European Commission's Questionnaire is scheduled.
