Bećirović-Cormack: NATO and EU membership are strategic goals of Bosnia and Herzegovina

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Candidate for the BiH Presidency member Denis Bećirović visited the Embassy of the United States of America and spoke with Ambassador Maureen Cormack.

The topic of the meeting was the current political situation in our country, with a special focus on Bosnia and Herzegovina's approach towards NATO and EU membership.

On that occasion, it was jointly stated that the United States of America, as the most significant NATO country, is an extremely important partner for Bosnia and Herzegovina in its desire to become part of the most important alliance that offers security and represents a guarantee of stability for the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

During a very constructive conversation, the candidate for the BiH Presidency member Denis Bećirović emphasized that NATO and EU membership are strategic goals of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina and that they represent the main commitments of the policy he strongly advocates for. He also pointed out that the path to NATO membership is an obligation that Bosnia and Herzegovina has legally committed to, and that this path must be faster and more effective.

The United States of America is a country that has decisively helped to establish peace in our country, has persistently supported Bosnia and Herzegovina on its path to stabilization, and remains one of the strategic pillars for the future and democratic development of our homeland.
