Barcelona: Man stole a truck loaded with butane and drove it the wrong way

Police arrested a man who stole a truck loaded with butane gas and drove it at high speed in the wrong direction on the highway, Patria reports.

Local media state that it is about Swedish citizen Joakim Robin Bergrenn, and speculate that he was under the influence of narcotics, writes Reuters.

A police spokesperson stated that no one was injured as a result of the shots fired by police officers at the fugitive, but that injuries to other traffic participants could not be ruled out, given that several butane bottles fell from the truck during the chase.

So far, one injury has been recorded due to a falling container, and several vehicles were hit by the truck driven by Bergrenn.

He is undergoing police questioning, and an investigation has been opened, with police stating that they are not ruling out any hypothesis about the motive for the incident.
