Bank employee stole client data and withdrew 18,975 KM in loans

The Doboj Public Security Center submitted a report to the Doboj District Prosecutor's Office against G.Đ. from Derventa, on suspicion of having committed the criminal offense of abuse of official position or authority, and against Ž.L., from the area of the Derventa municipality, on suspicion of having committed the criminal offense of abuse of official position or authority, reports the Patria news agency.

For the first reported person, G.Đ., there is reasonable suspicion that, using her position and authority as a responsible person in a bank branch in Derventa, in 2007, she used data from a client's credit documentation and, without his knowledge and consent, listed him as a second guarantor for obtaining a loan for a new client.

Contrary to the valid Decision on terms of business with the population, G.Đ., as the responsible person, allowed the credit file of the said new client not to be properly documented, i.e., that an adequately filled promissory note and loan application for the second guarantor were not provided.

By realizing the loan that was not repaid, the bank suffered material damage in the amount of 18,975.28 KM.

For the second reported person, Ž.L., there is reasonable suspicion that, as the responsible person and representative of an agricultural cooperative, he signed and certified with a seal a loan application containing data for a second guarantor, without the knowledge and consent of the person whose data was listed, the RS Ministry of Interior announced.
