The Center for Informative Decontamination of Youth from Banja Luka and the BUKA portal are organizing a workshop on January 31 in Banja Luka titled “Activists as journalists: How to improve the visibility of civic activism in the media”, and after the workshop, an award will be presented for the best activist story published on the Buka portal during December of last year and in January 2017, writes Patria.
Participants of the competition for the best activist story who made it to the shortlist are invited to the workshop/award ceremony. These are civic activists, journalists, and bloggers who face numerous challenges in their daily work in their efforts to achieve greater visibility for their activities and gain the necessary support to achieve their goals.
- The goal of the workshop is for participants to gain new knowledge and insights into ways of promoting civic initiatives and campaigns, and to exchange experiences on the use of digital media to achieve greater visibility and gain wider support for their activities - state the workshop organizers.
- Political elites are trying to portray the civil sector in a negative light, so one of the goals of the seminar is to familiarize civic activists with ways to combat the negative campaign being waged against them - state the organizers.
The workshop/award ceremony will be held in the Music Pavilion in Banja Luka starting at 12:00 PM, writes NAP.
