Banja Luka: Truck fell into Vrbas river, one person died

In the Banja Luka settlement of Srpske Toplice on the main road Banja Luka - Jajce, a traffic accident occurred in the early morning hours in which a truck fell off the road into the Vrbas riverbed, reports the Patria News Agency.

The freight vehicle was driven by Z. K. (1991) from Banja Luka, who sustained severe injuries and was hospitalized.

As confirmed for N1 by Marija Markanović, spokesperson for the Banja Luka Public Security Center (CJB), 500 meters downstream from the truck, the lifeless body of a man was found, suspected to be the co-driver of the truck, which is completely submerged.

-The driver is alive, in a state of shock, and uncommunicative, Markanović told us.

He was hospitalized at the University Clinical Center. The investigation was carried out by police officers of the Banja Luka Traffic Safety Police Station.

The duty prosecutor of the District Public Prosecutor's Office in Banja Luka was informed and ordered that all necessary measures and actions be taken to determine the cause of the traffic accident.
