Bandić released from prison, paid 15 million kuna

The non-trial panel of the Zagreb County Court released the mayor of Zagreb, Milan Bandić, on bail. Bandić paid a bail of as much as 15 million kuna in cash and promised the investigating judge that he would not influence witnesses and would not perform his duties, so he was released from Remetinec prison this evening, writes index.hr, reports the Patria agency.

About thirty of Bandić's supporters gathered in front of Remetinec prison to welcome him and express their support.

The court had previously made a decision that Bandić and the other eight co-defendants could be released as soon as they paid the bail amount into the court's account. When they submit proof of bail payment, they must also promise the court that they will not violate the conditions under which they are released.
