Balijagić-Džuho: Šimić should not have been arrested on the order of the KS Prosecutor's Office, the investigation is conducted by the BiH Prosecutor's Office

The Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton could not issue an arrest warrant for Josip Šimić, because the case in this matter is already being conducted by the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Šimić's lawyer Belma Balijagić-Džuho told the Patria agency after SIPA arrested Šimić last night on the order of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office, on suspicion of forging documents.

Šimić recently submitted documents to the BiH Prosecutor's Office regarding the alleged wiretapping of chief state prosecutor Gordana Tadić and VSTV vice-president Ružica Jukić. The KS Prosecutor's Office suspects that these documents were forged, after which they issued an arrest warrant for Šimić.

“We are sure that this is a demonstration of force by the chief cantonal prosecutor Dalida Burzić and revenge against Šimić, because of the articles he wrote about her. It is unacceptable for the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office to place itself above the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” believes Balijagić-Džuho.

The BiH Prosecutor's Office confirmed yesterday that an investigation is underway regarding the events related to the alleged wiretapping of Tadić and Jukić. On the other hand, the KS Prosecutor's Office announced that they are not conducting an investigation against Šimić because of media transcripts, but because of forging documents, and the investigation was opened four days earlier, writes NAP.
