Bakira Hasečić reported to the BiH Prosecutor's Office that she was insulted by the wife of a war criminal

The president of the Association „Woman – victim of war“ forwarded to the Prosecutor's Office of BiH copies of insults directed at her by the wife of one of the convicts for war crimes in Višegrad during '92, writes the Bosnian news agency Patria.

The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina sentenced in mid-February Dragan Šekarić to 14 years in prison for the persecution of the non-Serb civilian population from the area of Višegrad in the period from May to autumn '92, as well as for murders and rapes.

After the conclusion of the main trial, the first-instance panel of Section I for War Crimes of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina rendered a verdict on February 13, finding the accused Dragan Šekarić guilty of the criminal offense of war crimes against humanity.

Šekarić's wife Branka Šekarić-Ćuković did not hide her dissatisfaction with the decision of the State Court, so on her Facebook profile she attacked the president of the Association 'Woman - victim of war' Bakira Hasečić.

Hasečić is one of the most deserving for finding and prosecuting many war criminals, who today are serving multi-year prison sentences in the country or are being tried before the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia in The Hague, which is why she is often the target of criticism and accusations from the Serbian side.

Bakira did not want to say much about the attacks by Šekarić-Ćuković. She only confirmed that she sent copies of the insults to the BiH Prosecutor's Office. She hopes that this case will be prosecuted. She stated that she will not relent in helping state institutions in finding and prosecuting war criminals, who committed some of the most horrific crimes in the area of BiH from 1992 to 1995.

Branka Šekarić-Ćuković is very active on her Facebook profile, where she supports Serbian nationalism to a greater or lesser extent. It is interesting that Šekarić-Ćuković, although a former minister for social policy, health, displaced persons and refugees in the Government of the Bosnian Podrinje Canton (BPK) Goražde, often posts messages of inappropriate content on her Facebook profile, writes Patria.
