(Patria) - A plane flying from London to Sofia made an emergency landing in Zadar Airport due to a drunk Briton (28), the Zadar Police Department announced yesterday.
Police received a report around 6 PM on Monday that the plane's captain had decided to interrupt the flight and make an emergency landing in Zadar because a passenger was disturbing public order and peace and physically assaulted a 31-year-old flight attendant.
The aforementioned Briton, who was visibly under the influence of alcohol, refused to be tested for alcohol presence in his body during the police proceedings.
During the flight, he insulted the cabin crew with shouting and yelling in a particularly rude and offensive manner, disturbing the other passengers on the plane.
As stated in the announcement, with the intention of creating a humiliating and offensive environment, based on skin color differences, he violated the dignity of the cabin crew on the plane.
He was brought to the Misdemeanor Department of the Municipal Court in Zadar with a charge proposal, which, by a final decision, fined him 2,400 euros for the committed offenses.
Zadar Airport informed the Croatian Civil Aviation Agency about the incident to take measures within their jurisdiction.
There were no injuries in this incident.
