British Airways plane evacuated due to smoke in the cabin

(Patria) – A British Airways plane on a London – Valencia flight was evacuated immediately after landing due to smoke in the cabin, agencies report.

The Europa Press news agency reported that emergency services provided assistance to three people for smoke inhalation and ten more for injuries sustained while exiting the plane via the emergency slide.

It is still unknown what caused the smoke in the cabin during the last 10 minutes of the flight.

After exiting the plane, passengers complained about the lack of communication from the cabin crew during the incident.

A British Airways spokesperson confirmed on Monday evening that 'flight BA422 was involved in an incident', and that 'it landed and all passengers and crew disembarked', and that the airline's staff are assisting passengers at the terminal, the Euronews portal reported.
