Avdić: How the BiH Prosecutor's Office learned the identity of the person recruited by SOA

SARAJevo, (Patria) - Journalist Avdo Avdić was questioned today at the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, after publishing an article about the activities of Croatian intelligence agents in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The article, published on March 13, revealed that agents of the Croatian Security-Intelligence Agency (SOA) were recruiting members of the Salafi movement in BiH to transport a certain amount of weapons into BiH. It is suspected that this was done to confirm the thesis of Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović, who had previously stated that dangerous terrorist cells exist in BiH. The Croatian state political leadership did not abandon this thesis even after the news was denied by BiH security agencies.

Prosecutor Oleg Čavka summoned Avdić for questioning regarding the mentioned article, even though according to Article 82 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina, journalists cannot be questioned as witnesses.

“The prosecutor questioned me about my contacts, sources, and movements in catering establishments in Sarajevo, and crucially, asked me where I got information about Russian influence in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He did not ask me anything about this case of infiltration by intelligence services from Croatia,” Avdić said after the hearing, as reported by N1, and relayed by Patria.

Avdić stated that the person with the initials H.Č. was also questioned today at the Prosecutor's Office, one of the individuals recruited by Croatian intelligence agents, whose contacts with SOA were also admitted by the agency's director Daniel Markić. However, Avdić said, it is unclear to him how the State Prosecutor's Office of BiH learned the identity of this person, given that he, as a journalist, did not reveal the identity of this individual.

“How did Mr. Čavka know who it was. Probably from Mr. Markić, the director of the Croatian intelligence service,” Avdić said.
