Chinese to Build Highway Through Republika Srpska

Minister of Transport of RS Neđo Trninić and Director of "Autoputevi" Dušan Topić are on an official visit to China, where they are discussing with potential partners who would build the highway through RS, reports the BiH news agency Patria.

The RS Government announced that Trninić and Topić are staying in Macau, where the 6th Forum on Financing and Construction of International Infrastructure Projects is being held. The delegation from RS met with several delegations of companies that are already present in the region on important projects.

- We are particularly interested in the Banja Luka – Mliništa highway construction project, which will further go through the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia to Split.

Negotiations with Chinese partners began back in 2013, based on their self-initiated offer and expressed interest in participating in the construction of this road, which represents the continuation of the European corridor E 661 Gradiška – Banja Luka, in the southern direction - said Trninić, adding that the estimated value of the first phase of this highway construction is 600 million euros, reports NAP.
