Autoceste FBiH: Allegations that EIB cancelled tender for Corridor Vc section are untrue

The management of JP Autoceste FBiH rejects claims by some media that the European Investment Bank (EIB) cancelled the tender for the construction of a section of the highway on Corridor Vc, due to alleged tender rigging, and that acting executive director Jasmin Bučo is responsible for the suspicious selection of contractors.

On Thursday, it was announced that the EIB had cancelled the tender for the construction of the Počitelj - Zvirovići section of the highway on Corridor Vc, Počitelj interchange - Počitelj bridge, which was announced in 2014. 

- At the meeting with EIB representatives, attended by official representatives of the FBiH – FBiH Minister of Transport and Communications Denis Lasić and acting director of JP Autoceste FBiH Adnan Terzić, there was no mention whatsoever of the tender being rigged, nor was the selection of contractors characterized as suspicious. 

Acting executive director Jasmin Bučo was not mentioned in any context, and certainly not as responsible for the suspicious selection of contractors – states the response from Autoceste FBiH. 

This public company further reminds that the position of EIB officials was that if construction is to be accelerated, then it is best to cancel this tender and re-announce it under a new accelerated procedure to be prescribed by the EIB, which, as explained by the EIB, will be proposed very soon in an official letter from the EIB. 

- To avoid all speculation, JP Autoceste FBiH will, in the interest of accurate and proper public information, inform the public once it officially receives the letter from the EIB regarding its content and all subsequent steps related to the tender – states the response from Autoceste FBiH, reports Patria.
