SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Austria will today issue an official warning to its citizens for travel to Montenegro and five other Western Balkan countries.
As the reputable Der Standard writes, the warning concerns travel to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Albania, Kosovo, North Macedonia, and Montenegro.
The warning will be publicly announced today, and it was confirmed to the media before the scheduled press conference. The warning is of the highest, sixth level; travel to these countries is not recommended for citizens, and Austrians currently residing or permanently living in these countries are asked to leave.
As already stated on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website, the decision was made based on extensive information provided by Austrian and European representative bodies, which is regularly updated, with the intention of offering travelers the greatest possible transparency and the broadest possible basis for travel decisions.
The warning also applies to numerous other countries, including the USA, Brazil, Sweden, Great Britain, Russia, as well as the Chinese province of Hubei, the districts of Gütersloh and Warendorf in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia, and the Italian region of Lombardy.
