Arnaut's Law Saved Four Million Annually in BiH Budget

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Member of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH Damir Arnaut supports the information from the Ministry of Finance and Treasury of BiH, which detailed the total and individual savings achieved by his law on reducing compensation for work in commissions after 2015, when the law was adopted, and the average savings after the law came into force amount to one million KM annually.

Arnaut's law, consisting of only two articles, has already resulted in 4 million KM in savings for the BiH budget.

This Arnaut's law has led to a fairer distribution of compensation for work in commissions, committees, and other working bodies at the BiH level.

While individual compensations in 2015 (the last year before this law came into force) reached figures of up to 38,400 KM (Ismet Suljendić), 30,675 KM (Mato Lučić), 24,960 KM (Zoran Tegeltija), 24,950 KM (Alija Aljović), 20,317 KM (Vjekoslav Bevanda), 18,720 KM (Jelka Miličević), 14,365 KM (Enes Obralija) and similar, the total amount of annual compensation was limited to 5,708 KM per person by Arnaut's law.

This law has, therefore, resulted not only in savings but also in the abolition of the monopoly on membership in numerous commissions by politically connected individuals.
