(Patria) - Armin Berberović, accused of causing a traffic accident in Sarajevo in May in which doctor Azra Spahić died, and less than a month later doctor Alma Suljić also died from injuries sustained, today at the Cantonal Court in Sarajevo denied guilt.
"I am not guilty," he said during the plea.
Berberović is charged with the criminal offense of "Serious criminal offenses against the safety of public traffic" in connection with "Endangering the safety of public traffic."
The court states that Berberović is accused of, as a traffic participant, failing to comply with traffic regulations, endangering public traffic and putting human lives at risk, which resulted in the death of two people, while one person sustained minor bodily injuries.
The accident occurred on May 26, 2023, when Armin Berberović hit pedestrians with his vehicle.
The investigation established that Berberović was driving without a driver's license, with 0.41 per mille of alcohol in his blood, and was previously known to the Sarajevo police for numerous violations.
