Araghchi tells Trump: We will rebuild bridges, but America's reputation will never recover

(Patria) - After US President Donald Trump released a video of the demolition of the giant B1 bridge in Karaj and threatened Iran with total destruction, a response came from Tehran.

"The largest bridge in Iran is being demolished, it will never be used again. Much more is to follow," Trump wrote, then added in capital letters: "It is time for Iran to reach a deal before it is too late, before everything that could have still become a great country disappears!"

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said that the destruction of civilian infrastructure will not break the spirit of the Iranian people nor force them into capitulation.

He called the attack on the tallest bridge in the Middle East a desperate act that brings no military advantage.

"Targeting civilian facilities, including unfinished bridges, will not force Iranians to surrender. It only shows the defeat and moral collapse of an enemy that is in disarray," Araghchi stated.

He specifically addressed Trump's ultimatums and threats that "nothing will remain" of Iran, announcing a complete reconstruction of the country in defiance of Western allies.

"Every bridge and building will be rebuilt, and even stronger. What will never recover, however, is the damage done to America's reputation," the Iranian minister said.

Trump made several statements about Iran during the day, one of which referred to returning this country "to the Stone Age."

The Iranian minister also responded to that.

"There is one striking difference between the present and the Stone Age: back then, oil and gas were not extracted in the Middle East. Are the US president and the Americans who put him in power sure they want to turn back time?"
