SAS BiH: OHR reaction expected as Minister Grubeša fails to implement Constitutional Court decision

SARAJevo, (Patria) - Due to the refusal of the Ministry of Justice of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the state Minister of Justice Josip Grubeša to implement the decision of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the highest legal instance in the country, to register the Academy of Sciences and Arts of Bosnia and Herzegovina (SAS BiH) in the Register of Legal Entities of BiH, a complaint has been filed with the Office of the High Representative for BiH.

“The minister refused to register SAS BiH, citing some article, completely illegally, of course. Our attorney, Nedim Ademović, sent a complaint to the OHR, in which he asks Mr. Valentin Inzko to implement this decision. What Mr. Inzko will do, we don't know, but it is completely clear that the current minister will do nothing because the registration of the Academy has a symbolic meaning. It seems like a small thing, but in essence, it is a fundamental matter, because it concerns the state and its institutions” – said the President of SAS BiH, academic Muris Čičić, for N1.

Academic Čičić explains that 'they will never allow, as long as they are in this position where they can obstruct and prevent such an institution from being registered at the state level, because by doing so they would acknowledge that Bosnia and Herzegovina exists, which has its Academy, while all these ethnic, local academies are more of a popular character.'

The attorney of SAS BiH has already submitted a Request to the Constitutional Court of BiH for the determination of non-implementation of the Decision of the Constitutional Court of BiH.
