Americans attacked key Iranian oil export island Harg, Israel targets bridges

(Patria) - American forces targeted the island of Harg, reports the Iranian news agency Mehr.

The island is a key export hub for Iranian oil.

The US had previously bombed the island during the war, but Donald Trump at the time emphasized that American forces did not touch Iranian oil infrastructure.

Harg's importance to Iran is significant. According to Britannica, almost all of Iran's oil exports pass through this island, while Argus market analysts state that between 2023 and 2025, about 92 percent of Iran's crude oil exports were shipped from Harg. The island is also crucial because the deep sea around it allows large tankers to dock, which most of the Iranian coast does not have.

Trump repeatedly threatened that the US could take control of the island to control Iranian oil.

The Iranian agency Mehr reports that an Israeli attack hit the Yahya Abad railway bridge in the city of Kashan, in the central part of the country.

The agency, citing the deputy governor of Isfahan, states that two people were killed in the attack.

The attack followed an Israeli military warning to Iranians that, "for their own safety," they should not use trains until 9 PM local time.
