The US Department of Defense announced that it is investigating alleged online threats by the Islamic State against one hundred US military officials, reports the Patria News Agency.
A list of their names and addresses was published on a website linked to the group, along with a call for them to be killed.
A US security source told the BBC that they have contacted all individuals on the list.
The group, which calls itself the Islamic State Hacking Division, announced that the list contains the names of individuals who participated in US missions against the Islamic State.
It called on its "brothers" in the United States to "take the final step" and "deal with" all those whose names are on the list, the BBC reports.
