Americans hit water desalination plant, Iran to elect new supreme leader soon

(Patria) - The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claims to have targeted the US base in Juffair, Bahrain with solid and liquid fuel missiles.

The IRGC states that this attack is a response to the US attack on a water desalination plant in Qeshm, Al Jazeera reports.

Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi previously said that the US attack disrupted the water supply for 30 villages.

The Ministry of Interior of Bahrain announced on X that air raid sirens were sounding, and urged residents to remain calm and seek shelter.

The President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, stated that the country is in "wartime," in his first public comments since the conflict began.

Speaking to the wounded in the attacks, he said that the UAE will fulfill its duty to its country, its people, and its residents. The comments were broadcast on Abu Dhabi television during his address to the victims of the attacks.

He added that the UAE has "thick skin and tough meat – we are not easy prey."

During the day, Israel targeted several locations in Iran, causing damage to airports and destroying planes.

Israel also targeted Lebanon.

Iran's Assembly of Experts will meet within a day to elect a new supreme leader, Sky News reports.

This was stated by assembly member Ayatollah Mozaffari, quoted by Iranian media.

Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed in the initial US-Israeli attacks on Iran last weekend.
